Camden County was originally formed on February 5, 1777. The county was the second of eight original counties formed in the original Georgia State Constitution. The county is "Georgia's Coastal Community of Choice."

Many different communities make up HD180. United around common goals of supporting our veterans, growing our local economies, preserving our natural beauties, and more. Glenn, grounded in service to others, will champion our unique local values under the Gold Dome.
The first European to land on what is today Camden County was Captain Jean Ribault of France. Ribault named the rivers he saw the Seine and the Somme. They are the northern and southern borders of Camden County and now known as the Little Satilla and St. Marys Rivers.
